Heredad Beragu Hotel

Heredad Beragu Hotel

I have just been hosted at an amazing hotel here en Navarra. It is called Heredad Beragu. And it is just 50 minutes away from Pamplona.

A year and a half ago Patxi and Ramón opened this breathtaking 9 room hotel. One of the things that attracted me is that they do not accept children. Don´t get me wrong, but once in a while I love to be away from my kids.

Heredad Beragu is located in a small village (100 people) called Gallipienzo. This village has a lot of History. It was constructed before Spain became Spain with the Catholic Kings (15th century). It was a defensive town against the Kingdom of Aragon. You will feel the history when you get lost in it. By the way, get ready to go up and down the cable stone streets.

When you are hosted at this hotel, you will have the privilege to visit the church on your own. Just ask Patxi for the key and walk up the village.  You will be on your own at a XII century cript. Also the XIV century church will be there for you. If you look all the way at the back you will find the door to go up the old tower (XI century). It is just overwhelming.

If you like hiking, this will be your paradise, many routes start at the door of the hotel. When walking down to the river you will cross a bridge constructed by the Romans on the first century. If you have a bit more of time, you can walk all the way to Ujue. About 3 hours walk and another 3 to come back.

In the morning take your time for breakfast, enjoy the slow life. Good coffe, fresh orange juice, home made pastries and bread. Also a great selection of cheeses. All of this and much more over looking the Aragon river. So you  will feel like a King or a Queen.
